In Inca astronomy, the rainbow has a mystical and extraordinary character. They believed that the rainbow was a mysterious divinity, which they called Kuychi.

Kuychi emerges from water sources, which are known as pukyus in Quechua (Andean language), and is related to the rainy season.

This multi-colored piece is inspired by the colors of this divinity, and inlaid with a white and yellow mother-of-pearl shell, with a red, orange and purple spondylus shell, also known as the red gold of the Incas, and a beautiful touch of turquoise stone, chrysocolla and obsidian stone.
